Doctor of Public Health

The Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) program at Mercer University is designed to prepare students for leadership roles in public health. Offered with two concentrations—Social Epidemiology and Diverse Populations and Health Equity—the program spans seven semesters and is available both on-campus in Atlanta and online. The curriculum rigorously examines epidemiological principles and health equity, emphasizing community engagement to enhance health outcomes. Students in the Social Epidemiology concentration will focus on the impact of social and structural determinants of health, while those in the Diverse Populations and Health Equity concentration will learn to design and evaluate health programs for disadvantaged groups. Graduates are equipped for various leadership positions in public health, including roles as social epidemiologists, program directors, and professors, making a significant impact in diverse settings such as NGOs, government agencies, and the private sector.
