PhD (Statistics)

The PhD in Statistics at Universiti Sains Malaysia is designed to cultivate experts in the field of statistics, equipping them with the skills necessary for research and development as well as teaching at the postgraduate level. The program covers a wide range of research thrust areas including Applied Statistics, Quality Control, Regression Analysis, and Data Mining, among others. Students can choose to pursue the program either full-time or part-time, with a minimum duration of 4 semesters for full-time students and 6 semesters for part-time students. The program is delivered through a distance education format, allowing flexibility for students. Admission requires a relevant Master's degree or a Bachelor's degree with a high CGPA. The program aims to produce graduates who can contribute significantly to the field of statistics through innovative research and effective teaching.
