Bachelor of Social Work

The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program at the University of South Florida is designed to prepare students for entry-level practice as social work generalists. The program is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and consists of 41 credit hours, typically completed over four semesters. Students engage in a comprehensive curriculum that covers human behavior dynamics, the impact of social and cultural environments, and the workings of social welfare systems. The program includes a 460-hour field placement in the final semester, providing practical experience. Students can choose between an in-person cohort at the Tampa campus or an online cohort through the Sarasota-Manatee campus, which features a blend of synchronous and asynchronous coursework.
